Our tour begins in Laino Borgo, nestled in the heart of the Pollino National Park, among mountains, forests, and clear rivers. From here, we ride toward Laino Castello, a medieval ghost town perched above the valley, offering sweeping views and the atmospheric ruins of a noble past.
Descending through lush hills, we reach Mormanno, where a delicious lunch in a traditional osteria awaits. After tasting the authentic local cuisine, we continue on to Morano Calabro, one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages, with its castle-crowned hill and charming stone houses.
After a quick stop in Castrovillari, a town rich in history and culture, we arrive in Altomonte, where we’re welcomed by the elegant Castello di Serragiumenta, an 18th-century estate surrounded by vineyards and rolling countryside. After checking into our refined rooms, we enjoy a gourmet dinner made with products from the castle’s own farm—an unforgettable culinary experience in a noble setting.
After a hearty breakfast at the castle, we begin our descent into the Esaro Valley. Cycling through the fertile fields of Roggiano Gravina, we catch glimpses of the peaceful Lake Esaro, a tranquil spot that invites us to pause and soak in the scenery.
We continue on to Sant’Agata d’Esaro, nestled among the peaks of the Pollino mountains. Here, we’ll stop for lunch in a local trattoria, enjoying traditional Calabrian dishes in a warm and welcoming setting.
In the afternoon, we descend toward the coast, arriving at Belvedere Marittimo, a seaside jewel on the Riviera dei Cedri. Among citrus groves and views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, we’ll stay at Agriturismo L’Arca di Anna Brambilla, a cozy and peaceful farmhouse. The day ends with a homemade dinner, rich in rustic flavors and heartfelt hospitality.
After breakfast at the agriturismo, we set out on one of the most scenic stretches of the tour. We ride along the historic Strada Statale 18, with spectacular views of the northern Tyrrhenian coastline—cliffs, coves, and picturesque towns dot the way.
We stop for lunch in Diamante, known as the “City of Murals” and the capital of chili peppers. Our meal at Ristorante Sabbia d’Oro is a feast of fresh seafood, Mediterranean aromas, and sea breezes.
In the afternoon, we continue along the coast to the charming cliffside village of San Nicola Arcella, with views of the iconic Arco Magno. We stay at the elegant and welcoming Villa Crawford, and conclude the evening with a typical dinner in the historic centre, where local flavors and romantic ambiance go hand in hand.
Our final day begins with a scenic breakfast overlooking the sea, before we leave the coast and climb back into the mountains. The route takes us through Orsomarso, a gateway to the Lao River Valley, and deep into the green heart of the Pollino National Park.
We stop again in Mormanno for a farewell lunch at a traditional osteria, enjoying the warmth and flavors of mountain hospitality. In the afternoon, we return to Laino Borgo, where our incredible journey comes to a close—our hearts full of memories, and our minds refreshed by nature, culture, and the ride of a lifetime.
